It’s that time of year again–shortened school days and parent teacher conferences. But in Wilton, it also means the arrival of the Miller-Driscoll and Cider Mill School Book Fairs.

At Miller-Driscoll, this year’s theme is “Lasso a Great Book.” A coloring contest and a costumed parent greeting the buses traditionally kick off the start of sales. At both schools, students will visit their book fair to create “wish lists” of their own. Cider Mill students are even able to bring money to shop at the book fair, a privilege they really enjoy.

Both book fairs are PTA-run events, but every dollar raised is given directly to the schools:  to support the library at Miller-Driscoll and to support literacy programs , with an emphasis on the library, at Cider Mill. The book fairs are planned and staffed entirely by parent volunteers. Please consider starting your holiday shopping at your local schools; there are hundreds of titles to choose from and books for all ages.
