The following is an announcement provided by Wilton Go Green:
On Tuesday, April 8, all shoppers at Whole Foods Market: Westport will contribute to a great community cause. Five percent of every purchase will go directly to support the programs and mission of Wilton Go Green.
When Whole Foods Market customers stock up on all natural grocery items, they will help support Wilton Go Green’s numerous projects: the annual Wilton Go Green Festival, the Green Speaker Series held in collaboration with the Wilton Library Association, and current strategic initiatives in home energy efficiency, recycling, realtor outreach, and faith community outreach. We encourage our community members to use this opportunity to stock up! We’re very grateful for Whole Foods Market’s support and to those who come out to take advantage of this opportunity to support Wilton Go Green on April 8th.
Karen J. Stanley, Wilton Go Green’s current president, encourages all Wilton residents to shop at Whole Foods Market Tuesday and support the organization. “The ‘Five Percent Day’ at Whole Foods provides needed financial resources to realize our vision for Wilton and support the town’s work toward a healthier future for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren,” she said.
Five Percent Days are part of Whole Foods Market’s commitment to support environmental and educational causes in their community. Four times per year, each store identifies local organizations that align with Whole Foods Market’s commitment, and that make a real community impact. Wilton Go Green Board Members will be on hand during the day to promote home energy efficiency, sustainable energy sources, and the upcoming WGG Festival on May 4 in Wilton Town Center.
