Six Wilton High School seniors have been named National Merit Semifinalists in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. The six seniors, pictured L-R above, are Nickia Muraskin, Elizabeth Healy, Stephanie Xie, William Heffernan, Nicholas Johnson and Brandon Zheng.

These students took the fall 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as juniors. Nationally, out of the more than 1.5 million students who took the exam, approximately 16,000 were named National Merit Semifinalists. The nationwide pool of semifinalists represents less than one percent of United States seniors.  These students have the opportunity to continue in the competition for Merit Scholarship awards that will be offered next spring.
