Valentine’s Day may happen later in the week, but that doesn’t mean we have to love the weather that’s headed our way. In fact, the National Weather Service has issued a forecast with some ugly winter weather in the early part of the week.

Monday:  Today will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 36 degrees and a wind chill that will make it feel much colder–between 20 and 30. Monday night brings a 30% chance of snow, mainly after 3 a.m., and a low around 21 degrees.

Tuesday:   That chance of precipitation rises to 100%, according to the National Weather Service, with snow starting before 1 p.m., then turning into snow and sleet. The high temperature will be near 32 degrees, with wind chill values between 15-20 degrees. It’s possible we’ll see snow and sleet accumulation of 3-5 inches.

Tuesday Night:  Snow, freezing rain, and sleet will continue before 10 p.m., when it will change become rain and sleet between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., after which it finally develops into just rain when temperatures rise to around 35 degrees.Winds may gust as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday:  Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 44, and a 30% chance of rain continuing in the early house of the morning before 7 a.m..

Wednesday Night:  Partly cloudy, with a low around 26.

Thursday:  Mostly sunny, with a high near 42.

Thursday Night:  Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.

Friday:  A 50% chance of rain after 1 p.m.. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47 degrees.

Friday Night:  Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 38 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday:  A 50% chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50 degrees.

Saturday Night:  Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25 degrees.

Sunday:  Mostly sunny, with a high near 36 degrees.
