The Wilton Chamber of Commerce is planning a Winter Carnival as a new promotional event on Sunday, Jan. 28, and organizers have created an opportunity for families, groups, organizations and businesses to get involved now by helping to decorate Wilton Center streets. The “Snowflakes on Display” presentation will help set the scene for the events that are planned.
In cooperation with the Town of Wilton and Trackside Teen Center, large, 24-inch pre-cut wooden snowflakes will be available for a $35 sponsorship fee for participants to purchase and decorate. All the snowflakes will be displayed on Town lampposts similar to Wilton’s popular Halloweekend Scarecrow Fest, beginning Jan. 26 through Feb. 5.
Details and application forms are available from at the Wilton Chamber office (86 Old Ridgefield Rd.), by emailing Chamber executive director Debra Hanson, or online. For additional info call the Chamber at 203.762.0567.
Snowflakes can be picked up at Trackside Teen Center on Jan. 11-12, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; completed snowflakes must be returned to Trackside on Jan. 22-23, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; they’ll be installed Jan. 26. Organizers cannot allow for exceptions from the posted times.
The public is invited to enjoy the Wilton Winter Carnival on Sunday, Jan. 28, from noon-4 p.m..
