The following is a press release from the Town of Wilton.

Select Building and Health Department records are now available on the Town of Wilton website by visiting Online Access to Building/Health Department Records.

Users can search, view, and download historical Building and Health Department permits and related documents. As of Jan. 11, 2022, the portal includes documents for Street names beginning with letters A-N. For documents with Street names O-Z, please contact the Building Department via email. Documents for Street names O-Z will be added for online access shortly.

Document scanning is one of the means the Town has employed over the last five years to modernize Town government through increased digitalization and online access. Converting paper to digital records has the additional benefit of reducing the space needs in Town buildings.

The Wilton Land Use Department began work late in 2021 to digitize and provide online access to historical Building and Health Department permits that were being stored on microfiche at the Town Annex. Last year, the Wilton Town Clerk completed the scanning of all its land records which are now available online for review and download through COTT Systems. For more information, visit Land Records on the Town of Wilton website.

The Town has engaged Scan-Optics LLC of Manchester, CT to provide scanning services.
