“We have received many requests from the community for the S4 program for high school students, and are pleased to offer it at Trackside, timed to kick-off the new term” said Brett Beatty, program director of Trackside Teen Center. “Study skills are critical and a necessary foundation for academic success.”
The S4 program is founded on educational research and evidence-based studies. Its highly interactive approach is designed to clearly demonstrate how to apply students’ own curriculum and course material to the taught methodologies and systems. The workshops are taught by experience teachers. Each class is limited to 15 students.
Michelle Sagalyn, president of S4 said, “We are excited to be back at the Trackside Teen Center with two robust programs for 8th grade and high school students. Whether students are looking to acquire basic skills in organization, time management, and executive functioning strategies, or simply looking to improve their overall academic experience, these tools – when used – will help them succeed. Implementing even a single new skill has been shown to boost students’ motivation and academic performance.”
The S4 programs are designed to bolster academic confidence, motivation and preparation as academic workload and expectations increase rise. Skills taught include: planning, organizing, executive functioning strategies, as well as quiz, test, and long-term project preparation strategies.
Each two-session six-hour workshop is $295. However, families that register for both will save $100. The workshop fees include all in-class materials, original S4 Teach Sheets for each skill taught, and post-parent emails after each session. Class size is limited to 15.
