Another pretty quiet week (Nov. 13-19) is in store for Wilton. Temperatures will definitely be warmer than what they just were during the past weekend but are still forecast to be cooler than average. At the end of this week’s forecast, I’ll preview the weather around and on Thanksgiving.
Monday, Nov. 13: To begin the week, temperatures will be about 10 degrees below average, getting only into the mid 40s. A weak disturbance will move through the Mid-Atlantic, which may spark a spotty shower, but otherwise there will be a mix of sun and clouds.
Tuesday, Nov. 14: Tuesday will be a beautiful, fall day as high pressure moves overhead from the west. Conditions will be very seasonable for this time of the year under sunny skies.
Wednesday, Nov. 15: Wednesday will be a complete duplicate of Tuesday. Temperatures are forecast to top off at 50 degrees under mostly sunny skies. It will be fairly comfortable to take the dog out for a walk where you won’t be shivering, unlike during last weekend when we got down to 17 degrees Sunday morning.
Thursday, Nov. 16: Another disturbance may bring a batch of light rain to the Northeast early Thursday morning, but the models continue to clear the rain out by daybreak. Therefore, clouds will clear to sunshine by the average.
Friday, Nov. 17: The week will come to a close with more of the same on Friday–sunny skies and high temperatures hovering around that 50 degree mark.
Saturday, Nov. 18: Now we track our next significant storm for the region. This storm will originate from the Rocky Mountains and may bring damaging winds to the Great Lakes region. In our neck of the woods, I’m currently thinking there will be a light-to-moderate rain in the morning with wind gusts up to 40- to possibly 50 mph throughout the day.
Sunday, Nov. 19: Colder air will return behind Saturday’s storm but this round of cold will not be as extreme as we experienced last week. Instead, we’ll be back to the 40s with sunshine on Sunday.
Thanksgiving Preview: At press time, we’re still over 10 days away from the Thanksgiving holiday, so don’t treat this forecast as locked-in. Right now, the weather pattern across the Eastern U.S. is looking quiet with mainly dry conditions. It will likely be cooler than average during the day leading up to Thanksgiving, and then we’ll warm up to near-average temperatures after the holiday.
