Two major local sporting events are calling Wilton home this weekend, bringing out of town visitors to the fields, courts and hopefully businesses in town.

Wilton to Host Boys Basketball FCIAC College Showcase Oct. 6-7

Wilton High School will be the host location for the FCIAC College Showcase this Saturday, Oct. 6 from 2-6 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.. All play will take place at the Wilton High School Zeoli Field House.

Wilton Boys Varsity basketball coach Joel Geriak has organized Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC), South West Conference (SWC) and Southern CT Conference (SCC) teams to participate. College coaches will be in attendance to watch the talent in a pre-season competition.

This event is free to public and an opportunity to see top basketball teams from around Connecticut play before the season begins.

CT Rush Tournament Comes to Wilton this Weekend

Connecticut Rush is hosting its 5th annual Columbus Day Challenge tournament on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6-7, and most of the tournament play will happen on Wilton soccer fields. Organizers say that with around 220 teams registered from up and down the eastern seaboard, this year’s tournament promises to be the biggest one yet.

In addition to matches being played in Wilton, other games will take place in Easton, CT; Brookfield CT; and South Salem, NY.
