Moving Up to High School: What Your 8th Grader Needs From You
Tuesday April 29th, 7:00-9:00pm, Wilton High School Little Theatre
Transitions for kids at any age can be complicated for both parents and children; one of the most challenging periods of transition can be the one when middle schoolers become high school students.
Parents of 8th graders are invited to attend a presentation on “Adolescent Brain Development” by Liz Jorgensen, a nationally recognized adolescent counseling expert. The session will be held at the Wilton High School Little Theater on Tuesday, April 29, 7-9 p.m..
Following the presentation there will be a Q&A session with panelists to address questions on transitioning from 8th to 9th grade, with a focus on the emotional and behavioral aspects of entering high school. The panelists will include: Wilton High School and Middlebrook School counselors, Wilton High School parents and WHS students.
Admission is free, and there is no registration. For questions, contact the Middlebrook Guidance Office at 203.762.8388. The discussion is being sponsored by the Wilton High School PTSA, Wilton Youth Council’s Parent Connection and Wilton Public Schools.
