WHS Boys Golf Team Tees Up Used Equipment Collection for Needy Young Golfers & Military Families

The Wilton High School Boys’ Golf Team once again is collecting used golf clubs and equipment from area residents for donation to the First Tee Program at Fairchild Wheeler in Fairfield. First Tee helps young golfers learn the fundamentals of the game of golf and at the same time, build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through golf.

The team is seeking donations of golf clubs and accessories (e.g., golf bags) in good condition. Used drivers, sets of woods, sets of irons for use by adults and children, along with golf accessories will be accepted.

Golf team members will be at the Village Market on Thursday, June 9, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. to accept donated items  and at the Wilton Family YMCA on Saturday, June 11 between 9 a.m.-noon.

In addition, for the fifth year in a row, the team is participating in the Birdies for the Brave Golf Team Pledge Program throughout the 2016 season. All funds raised will go directly to Birdies for the Brave, a PGA TOUR Charities program is dedicated to supporting the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Anyone interested in donating to the program may do so on the above dates as well.
