Three Wilton High School seniors have spent their 4-week senior internship program working hard at Trackside Teen Center. Riley McPhee, Olivia Deluca, and Casey O’Hara have devoted much of their time organizing Trackside’s annual golf tournament fundraiser, “Take a Swing Fore the Kids.”
The tournament is scheduled for this Monday morning, June 13, at Oak Hills Park Golf Club in Norwalk. The format is a 4-person scramble; registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m., following continental breakfast. The fee of $185 per golfer also includes lunch, on-course refreshments, open bar and silent auction.
McPhee, Deluca and O’Hara have been instrumental in putting the event together, according to Trackside’s executive director, Mark Ketley. He says the three interns met with local business owners, designed tee signs, created the golf tournament brochure, worked with the golf pro, designed and ordered gifts for the golfers, created and set up the raffle and auction.
“We love having the interns as a part of our tournament operations,” Ketley says. “While it’s a great experience for them, it was wonderful for us to have their involvement. These seniors were such a joy to work with, we are going to miss them.”
