Waterbury’s Seven Angels Theatre recognizes high school theater productions in Connecticut with the Annual High School Halo Awards, honoring high school students’ achievements in all aspects of theater. Productions put on by more than 60 high schools from across CT have been considered for this year’s awards, including Wilton High School’s two 2018-2019 school year productions, which received 14 nominations combined.
The award ceremonies take place at the Palace Theater in Waterbury on May 28, May 29 and June 3, complete with red carpet and pageantry for the participating students and their family and friends. Awards recognize acting by individuals and ensembles, dramas, musicals, choreography, lighting, design, stage management, special effects, and more. According to the Seven Angels Theatre website, “one of the highlights of the evening is the presentation of the Gypsy Robe, which is given to a chorus member nominated by the director from the school awarded Best Chorus.”
