Niche.com just released its 2019 K-12 School and District Rankings and the Wilton Public School District once again makes the Top 10 in almost every category measured by the ranking website in CT and locally in Fairfield County. Overall, the Wilton School District is ranked at No. 6 out of 120 school districts in CT, behind only New Canaan (1), Westport (2), Darien (3), Weston (4), and Amity Regional District No. 5 in Woodbridge (5).

Wilton High School also came in at No. 6 on the 2019 Best Public High Schools in CT list, out of 206 CT high schools.

Those were two out of several lists included in Niche.com’s 2019 School Rankings, which the data company released Tuesday, July 31, ahead of the 2018-19 school year. They analyzed stats from the U.S. Department of Education for factors like academics, teachers, culture and diversity–including state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings, and more–with millions of reviews from students and parents about their local schools. Altogether, Niche.com ranked 3,904 private schools, 83,542 public schools, and 10,758 school districts in the United States.

Rounding out the remaining top-10 Connecticut school districts are Glastonbury (7), Simsbury (8), Avon (9) and Farmington (10). The other Fairfield County schools that made the list within the top-25 CT districts are Ridgefield (11), Greenwich (14), Fairfield (15), Newtown (16), Trumbull (19), Bethel (21), Monroe (22), Brookfield (25).

Cider Mill Elementary School (Grades 3-5) was ranked #26 out of 144 public elementary schools in Fairfield County, and #51 out of 581 statewide public elementary schools. Cider Mill earned an A grade overall.

Miller-Driscoll Elementary School (pre-K, K-2) was not ranked on Niche.com’s list. It did receive an overall grade of A-, although there was no grade for academics; M-D teachers received a grade of A, and the school got a B grade for diversity.
