The Wilton Interfaith Action Committee (Wi-ACT) has long supported the efforts of two Wilton residents, the husband and wife team of Dr. Hossein Sadeghi and Dr. Golnar Raissi, who founded a charity called CF Bridge of Hope to help cystic fibrosis patients.

Wi-ACT, which has provided meals and assistance to the patients that come here for treatment, is sponsoring a fundraising ride at JoyRide for the Cystic Fibrosis Bridge of Hope this Saturday, Dec. 1 at 11:30 a.m.. It is $40 to participate in the spin-raiser ride.

According to the group’s website, CF Bridge of Hope “…was established in 2013 to help children afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis in areas of the world where treatment and access to CF health and support services is not readily available. The premise is to bring these children for interim treatment to the United States as a bridge solution while local resources in their native countries or regions are being established. In many instances without education, support and treatment, many of these children will die.”

No spin experience is necessary. Interested participants can visit the Joyride Wilton website, click on the link in the events page, set up an account and choose a bike. The ride is a 50-minute spin class led by instructor, Jared Marinelli.

The minimum donation is $40 per bike, which can be paid in cash or check (written out to ‘Cystic Fibrosis Project, Inc.’) on the day of the event.
