Wilton’s Department of PublicWorks is gearing up for road-paving season, now that asphalt plants have begun re-opening and operating thanks to warmer weather.

First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice told her fellow selectmen at the May 7 Bd. of Selectmen meeting that the first streets to be paved will be Hurlbutt St. and Skunk Ln. beginning this week. Work on those roads is scheduled to be completed by the end of May (weather permitting).

The list of remaining roads to be paved has been posted on the town website. The current list shows the roads that will be paved under the FY-2018 budget.

“The staff is out driving the roads, prioritizing those 2018 roads, and once that schedule is done, that order will go up on the website too,” Vanderslice noted.

The road paving program under FY-2019 won’t begin until July 1, 2018.
