Wilton Youth Council‘s new “Community Champion” program, part of its town-wide Wilton Coalition for Youth‘s “Wilton is Where You Belong” campaign, highlights one individual each month who makes a positive difference in the Wilton community and sets a model for others to get connected in the same way. Candidates are nominated by community members by submitting a brief online nominating form; nominations are reviewed and selected monthly by Coalition members. The Coalition has partnered with GOOD Morning Wilton to announce each month’s Community Champion.
Congratulations to Vivian Lee-Shiue on being named the Wilton Coalition for Youth’s April 2025 Community Champion as part of the #WiltonIsWhereYouBelong campaign. Community Champions are recognized for their positive influence, work or commitment to our community.
Lee-Shiue grew up in Wilton and is active in both Wilton’s in-person and online community. The person who nominated her wrote, ”As the creator of [the] Working Moms of Wilton Facebook group, she has created a 1,800-woman community that builds connections and relationships among Wilton’s working moms, often doing good for Wilton in the process.”
Lee-Shiue is also active in the Wilton Singers, as both a singer and organization treasurer, a board member at the Riverbrook Regional YMCA, and has held a variety of other positions, including past vice chair of the Economic Development Committee. She was described as “someone who brings a collaborative, supportive spirit to everything she does and makes Wilton better for it.”
The Wilton Coalition for Youth is made up of a myriad of organizations, town departments and individuals who serve youth and families in Wilton. These organizations are working together to coordinate efforts aimed at preventing substance misuse and promoting the mental health and emotional well-being of Wilton’s youth and families. The effort is spearheaded by the Wilton Youth Council.
