Music soars at Wilton Congregational Church — music of all kinds! Worship is brought to life with melody and song, and that’s especially true in the church’s historic sanctuary.

On any given Sunday morning, you might hear the majestic sounds of the organ or the rockin’ guitar riffs of the church’s contemporary worship band. All are invited to experience making a joyful noise to the Lord at the church’s 9:30 a.m. worship service. Two Sundays a month the contemporary worship band plays, under the direction of Joan Wallace, and two Sundays a month traditional music leads the worship experience. There is no pattern to one or the other — so all are encouraged to come and hear whatever musical ensemble is playing.

All ages, from kids to seniors, take part in the church’s music program. There are musical opportunities in the singing choir, in the handbell choir, and in the worship band. Children look forward to the musical Christmas pageant every year, and this spring — on Mother’s Day, May 12 — there will be a special children’s musical presentation during the worship service.

Whether worshippers are singing old favorites from the hymnal or joining in newer Christian songs, the music program is led by the church’s Director of Music Ministry Eugene Sirotkine. A skilled choral conductor, pianist and organist, Sirotkine has been at Wilton Congregational Church since 2016. He is also the long-time music director and conductor of the Hudson Valley Singers, and Eugene makes himself available for private music lessons here in Wilton.

Upcoming special musical worship services will take place at Wilton Congregational Church’s sanctuary, located at 70 Ridgefield Rd. in Wilton:

Sunday, April 21, 9:30 a.m.: A service led by the Riverside Brass Quintet, guest performers who will play the entire service, including hymns, along with members of the church choir.

Sunday, May 12, Mother’s Day, 9:30 a.m.: A short musical play, starring children of all ages, entitled, “Moses, the Dream of Freedom.”
