As the back-to-school season gets underway, Wilton Congregational Church is excited to welcome children and families to another year of vibrant youth programs! From kindergartener to high schooler, there’s a place for every age at the church. Wilton Congregational believes children are at the heart of its mission. That’s why the church is committed to creating a safe, joyful, and enriching space where every child is invited to grow — in faith, friendship and service to others.

Weekly Afterschool Programs for Elementary and Middle School Kids

Children in grades K-8 meet weekly after school during the school year. These sessions start with a snack (a favorite time for many kids) and continue with engaging stories from the Christian faith, paired with hands-on activities or simple service projects that make a real impact in the community.

Parents can feel confident knowing that older teens from the church help lead these groups, acting as caring mentors and positive role models. For younger children, it feels a lot like having a big brother or sister by their side as they learn and play.

Teens Making a Difference

The high school youth group meets twice a month, usually on weekends. These gatherings offer a deeper dive into faith and service as kids create their own community. Teens are always encouraged to bring their friends — no church background needed.

A highlight for high schoolers is the annual service trip during the February school break, when teens travel to underserved areas in the U.S. to help others. This year, the group will head to the Gulf Coast to support the city of Biloxi, MS, an experience that will combine compassion, teamwork, and adventure.

Everyone’s Invited

At Wilton Congregational Church, all children are welcome — regardless of religious background or affiliation. It’s a place where young hearts and minds are nurtured, friendships are formed, and families find community support during the busy school year and beyond.

Whether a returning youth group veteran or looking to come for the first time, all are invited to Wilton Congregational Church this fall! Email Rev. Caroline Hughes with any questions.

Youth group meetings will begin the week of Monday, Sept. 8:

  • Elementary Schoolers: Tuesdays (beginning Sept. 9)
    • 3rd-5th Grades: Off the bus (Bus 6) from 2:45-3:45 p.m.
    • K-2nd Grades: Off the bus (Bus 32) from 4-5 p.m.
  • Middle Schoolers: Thursdays (starting Sept. 11)
    • 6th-8th Grades: Off the bus (Bus 7) from 3:15-4:30 p.m.
  • High Schoolers: Check the website or email Rev. Caroline for the fall calendar.
