Don’t get put in the dog house–make sure to renew your dog’s license(s) before the deadline.

Connecticut State law requires all dogs six months and older in Wilton to be licensed by FridayJune 30. Dog licenses are valid for one year. The cost to license each dog is $8 if spayed or neutered, $19 if the dog isn’t altered. There is a $1 per month late fee after June 30. A current rabies certificate is required to receive a dog license. Written proof of spay/neuter is required to receive the discounted price.

The dog license law helps ensure that all dogs are current on their rabies vaccination in addition to helping recover lost dogs. Dog licenses may be obtained at the town clerk’s office at Wilton Town Hall (238 Danbury Rd.), which is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.. License applications may also be sent by mail.
