Every Town Needs A Mike Kaelin

To the Editor:

I am pleased to support Mike Kaelin’s candidacy for a seat on the Board of Selectmen. Mike has already established himself as a smart, dedicated member of the Board, and I believe Wilton would benefit from his continued service.

I have known Mike for several years, and have long held him in high regard because of his obvious dedication to our town. From his current tenure on the Board of Selectmen to his many years on the Wilton Library Association board, Mike has a tremendous sense of Wilton’s history, and cares deeply about our future. I have had several conversations with him on various issues, and without exception, his first question is always: “How will it benefit Wilton?”

Mike has used his time as a selectman to advocate for fiscal responsibility. He questions every dollar the town spends and drills down on every spending request, continually asking if there isn’t a better option. Mike is also very aware that Wilton’s taxes are too high. He is committed to offering tax relief to all Wilton taxpayers, and is a leader in pursuing opportunities for economic development as a way to grow our tax base.

He also understands the importance of investing in our public school system, and that the Wilton Public Schools must continue to be a key selling point in attracting new families to our town. Our Board of Education has appreciated his support, and the interest he has shown in learning about the exciting innovations taking place in our schools with regard to instructional practices and curriculum content.

Every town needs a Mike Kaelin, the kind of selfless person who puts in long volunteer hours and is always the first to jump in when a need arises. Mike has already proven himself as an effective member of the Board of Selectmen, and I look forward to four more years of his contributions.

I urge everyone to give Mike Kaelin their support on Election Day.

We  Need Lynne Vanderslice’s Skills

To the Editor:

This election, I proudly join the countless others in support of Lynne Vanderslice for first selectman. Now more than ever we need someone with the skills and experience to get our financial house in order.

Lynne’s professional career as a CPA, as a corporate controller and her experience on the Wilton Board of Finance make Lynne Vanderslice THE ideal choice to get the job done.

Lynne Vanderslice is exactly what Wilton needs for our next first selectman and this is why she enjoys overwhelming support regardless of party including endorsements from Andy Pforzheimer, Jim Meinhold, Toni Boucher, and Gail Lavielle.

Past Performance is Reason to Vote for Kaelin

To the Editor:

In the political realm, past performance IS the best predictor of future performance, and that’s why I’ve chosen to wholeheartedly endorse Mike Kaelin for re-election to the Board of Selectmen.

Mike’s vast experience in every aspect of life in Wilton, and his tireless commitment to many important causes, makes him uniquely qualified to represent our citizenry.

His accomplishments and efforts to do the right things right for our town, combined with his knowledge of public policy and the law, substantiates my endorsement and belief he should be re-elected this November.

Kaelin a Strong Leader, Effective Consensus Builder

To the Editor:

Wilton is very fortunate to have a candidate with Michael Kaelin’s experience run for the Board of Selectmen. Michael is a strong leader and an effective consensus builder who can help unite our community around a common set of priorities to build a strong future for our town. His experience as a member of the Board of Selectman, vice chairman of the Charter Commission and president of the Wilton Library Association provide a comprehensive background to help in controlling taxes, attracting new businesses and continuing to improve the quality of life in our community.

Sincerely,

Michael Lindberg

Kaelin Will Work In Our Best Interests

To the Editor:

I am happy to endorse Mike Kaelin for selectman. I had the opportunity to meet and speak with Mike at the Village Market.  Impressive in person, I came away believing that Mike was a clear, balanced thinker with an excellent grasp on the myriad of fiscal issues facing Wilton and that I could trust him to work towards beneficial resolution of them.  As we talked about the flight of people and business out of our town due to the ever increasing costs, Mike impressed me that I could trust him to work in our best interests, containing costs yet maintaining quality of services, insuring the reputation and desirability of Wilton in the marketplace.
