Vote for Vision for Planning and Zoning Commission
To the Editor:
I’m writing to strongly support the Democratic candidates for Planning and Zoning [Commission]: Ken Hoffman, Trevor Huffard, Jessica Rainey, Margit Ritz and Michelle Sagimbene. All are committed Wilton residents, active in our community, and ready to ensure the unique character of our town.
P&Z has been run by a Republican clique for decades that has had no vision for the future of the town. We have chaotic sprawl on the southern part of Rte. 7, no strategy for what our town center should look like, and little coordination with other towns for the future of Georgetown. P&Z is simply failing -— it made notorious mistakes on the Hubbard St. project next to the library and on the Kimco project. Yet it has blocked opportunities for Wiltonians to offer their views of the town’s future.
A critical moment for the future of our town is coming up through the next Plan of Conservation and Development. It is a critical tool to protect the town’s historic character and create the kind of living and vital life in Wilton Center and Georgetown we want. Darien and Ridgefield have planned great town centers, why not Wilton?
Vote for vision on P&Z.
