Notice anything different about us lately?

Yes, GOOD Morning Wilton has gone green in honor of this weekend’s Wilton Go Green Festival, which takes place in Wilton Center this Sunday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.. This annual event is a hallmark of the town’s continued efforts toward promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship. Plus–the festival is always a GOOD deal of fun!

What’s planned this year?

More than 80 exhibitors and craftsman will gather around Town Green and the library for an exciting day of discovery, entertainment and family fun. Cyril the Sorcerer joins this year, captivating young and old alike. Using magic, Cyril illuminates the wonders of our planet and the power we have to protect it. From recycling to climate change, he educates, entertains and empowers us all to care for the natural world we love.

All day, festival-goers will be treated to live music, delicious food, nature exhibits and animals, children’s activities, free mattress and paper recycling, informative discussions with experts in sustainable living, fabulous green shopping, and a silent auction that’s not to be missed.

The Westport Electric Car Club will stop by the festival with gleaming, energy-efficient vehicles, including an 1898 electric car! There will also be a replica of Gustav Whitehead’s plane–reputed to be the first in flight, predating the Wright Brothers by a year–available for viewing. There’s even a dog parade complete with prizes and giveaways for canine conservationists!

Special ceremonies include a check presentation to the Norwalk River Valley Trail, courtesy of the Wilton Energy Challenge, HE-Energy Solutions, New England Smart Energy, and Next Step Living.
