Every day, residents and businesses go above and beyond to live sustainability and support their community. Wilton Go Green believes that every action, big or small, deserves to be recognized as a positive step towards a healthy community and a healthy planet. Such efforts can also create momentum to inspire other community members to contribute in their own ways to green living.

Wilton Go Green is asking residents to think of friends, neighbors or community members who deserve to be recognized for their sustainable actions, and nominate them for Wilton Go Green’s “Green Neighbor Award”.

“We look forward to honoring residents doing one thing or many things to support a healthy planet,” Wilton Go Green President Tammy Thornton said.

Here’s how to submit nominations:

  • Nominations will be accepted from now until Monday, Feb. 10, 2025.
  • Wilton Go Green board members will review all nominations and contact people if their nominee was selected.
  • The online nomination form takes less than five minutes to complete. Submit nominations online.
  • Winners will be notified on Saturday, March 1
  • Honorees will be recognized at Wilton Go Green’s Annual Community Celebration held at the Wilton Library on Wednesday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m.

For more information, visit Wilton Go Green’s website to see a list of last year’s honorees who adopted green habits including glass collection, volunteering to support educational art projects, maintenance of town parks and trails and green living at home including solar panel installation.

Email Wilton Go Green with any questions.

Thank you for reading this GOOD Morning Wilton article. I hope you find all our reporting helpful and an important part of keeping up on everything in Wilton. Since 2013, GMW has worked hard to bring you timely, independent news that's available to everyone at no cost. No other news source covers Wilton, and only Wilton, full-time. What makes this local public service possible is reader support. Paid memberships fund reporters who bring you next-day news and secure our resources for things like livestreams and getting news to you when it counts. But we can't do this without your support. For as little as $5 a month, a GOOD Morning Wilton membership can keep local, independent news going in Wilton. Please consider supporting us today. Thank you,

Heather Borden Herve, GMW Editor/Publisher
