GOOD To Know: Police Say Pimpewaug Rd. Traffic Tripled Since Detours

According to minutes from the Police Commission meeting on Oct. 12, Wilton Police are tracking a marked increase in traffic on Pimpewaug Rd. since detours were set to accommodate the Cannon Rd. and Honey Hill Rd. bridge closures. Lt. Dave Hartman has recently completed traffic studies that show roughly three times the previous traffic volume on Pimpewaug Rd. than before the detours.

As a result, Police Chief Thomas Conlan drafted a letter asking the State Department of Transportation to reconsider the Town’s concerns regarding increased traffic on Pimpewaug Rd. Wilton officials have asked the state to install a temporary traffic light at the intersection of Pimpewaug Rd. and Rte. 7/Danbury Rd.
