The Wilton High School varsity football team made historic news last week with its 20-17 victory over Greenwich, the state’s top-ranked team. It was the first time Wilton faced Greenwich in 16 years; the last win against the number-one team in Connecticut was in 1995.
The upset earned two nominations from the Ruden Report — for Team of the Week and for quarterback Joey Hagerty as Player of the Week after Hagerty completed 20 of 27 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 75 yards.
Team of the Week voting is open online until Wednesday, Oct. 23 at noon; Player of the Week voting is open online until Thursday, Oct. 24 at noon.
