Wilton Library will be presenting the diverse works of more than 30 area artists from Weir Farm National Historical Park’s Artist Collective program in its November-December art exhibition “Weir Inspired: The Annual Show of the Weir Farm Artist Collective,” opening on Friday, Nov. 7 with a reception from 6-7:30 p.m.

Started in 2023, the Weir Farm Artist Collective is a collaboration of independent artists following the tradition of creativity within the Weir Farm National Historical Park landscape. Its purpose is to inform, support, encourage and engage accomplished artists of all mediums to share ideas, opportunities and technical solutions. Local artists have the opportunity to connect and share during monthly meetings and paint-outs. The programs are open to all, and the target audience includes inspired creators of all skill levels working in any medium. The group includes painters of oil, gouache, acrylic and watercolor, drafters, printmakers, photographers, pastelists and mixed media creators. The Weir Farm Artist Collective serves as an opportunity to connect with other Weir Farm artists and build a community of practice.

The artists from the group will be exhibiting their works in an array of styles, media choices and subject matter. The artists are: Chris Bedell (Ridgefield), Robert Boger (Trumbull), Randy Carboni (Bethel), Leslie Carone (South Salem, NY), Thomas Carruthers (Bethel), Joan D. Cone (Newtown), Roberta Delano (Westport), Diane Dooley (Redding), Nancy Goettman (Ridgefield), Michele Hankin (Norwalk), Jama Hansonbrook (North Salem, NY), Donna Haupt (Stamford), Bonnie Johnson (New Fairfield), Eva Llanos (South Salem, NY), Kathie Milligan (Stamford), Bobbi Eike Mullen (Georgetown), Jill Harrington Nichols (Huntington), Kelsie Oreta (Southport), Penny Pearlman (Westport), Cynthia Porter (Rowayton), Maria Reed (South Salem, NY), Lucy Reitzfeld (Ridgefield), Lynn Sadlon (Norwalk), Malina Schneider (Danbury), Lesley Schwarzschild (Westport), Loure Shaw (Ridgefield), Day Shields (Wilton), Clarice Shirvell (Ridgefield), Eileen Tavolacci (Redding), Steven Tortora, Christina Tugeau (Fairfield), Lindsay Close Wallace (Trumbull), Cris Walsh and Jane Wright Wolf (Weston).

The “Weir Inspired” opening reception on Friday is free and open to the public. The exhibition runs through Wednesday, Dec. 31. A majority of the works will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the library.

Wilton Library hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday 1-5 p.m. The library will be closed on Nov. 27 and Dec. 24, 25 and 31.
