The Norwalk River Valley Trail is growing longer again, as Timber & Stone, the trail builder for the entirety of the Wilton Loop, has started construction on the next 2,000 foot extension of the trail.
“With the strong support of the Wilton community, we’re excited about extending the Loop beyond the recently completed boardwalk to Twin Oak Ln.,” says Pat Sesto, president of the Friends of the NRVT.
Timber& Stone anticipates being finished with the latest extension in December. When the extension is completed, the east side of the Wilton Loop will run over two miles from the trail head at Rte. 7 and Wolfpit Rd., to just short of Skunk Ln..
The vision of the NRVT is a 38-mile multiuse trail running from Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk, through Wilton, Ridgefield and Redding, terminating at Rogers Park in Danbury.
