Thursday morning, March 28, the Wilton Police Department officially welcomed its newest member, Ofc. Anthony Fragomeli. Fragomeli’s parents and sister, along with several other family members and friends, attended the swearing-in ceremony.

First Selectman Toni Boucher and Police Commissioner Chris Giovino praised Fragomeli for his accomplishment, and Town Clerk Lori Kaback administered the oath of office.

Fragomeli grew up in Bethel and is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Justice Administration and Law Enforcement.

He has held several jobs before joining the Wilton Police, most recently as a server and cook at Meadow Ridge Assisted Living in Redding, where according to a press release, he made a lasting impression among the residents for his kindness and attentiveness, two important qualities for a Police Officer.

Fragomeli gives back to his wider community in many ways, volunteering for the Bethel Land Trust, which focuses on conserving land and maintaining trails in Bethel, and previously volunteering as a soccer coach during his school years.

“Remain close with your family members and friends who are here to support you today, but also know that you are now part of a second family, with the fine men and women of the Wilton Police Department,” Chief Tom Conlan said during the ceremony.

Fragomeli’s father, Mario Fragomeli, presented his son with a new Wilton Police Badge, followed by Wilton Police and Fire personnel who lined up to shake hands and welcome Fragomeli to the team.
