Congratulations to the 14 Wilton residents who graduated from the Wilton Police Department Citizens Police Academy last week.

During the eight week course, the academy covers a wide range of topics, including department history and administration, training and recruitment, arrest law and procedure, all facets of patrol, investigative techniques, school resource policing and juvenile policing; K9 policing; weaponry; motor vehicle enforcement; and more.

The participants were able to interact with officers at all ranks, including Wilton Police Chief John Lynch and Capt. Tom Conlan, who ran the academy.

Following the graduation session last Wednesday, Oct. 30, the participants received certificates and enjoyed cake and coffee with the officers.
