Following the surprising news that Wilton Police had made arrests last week in an alleged prostitution case involving the Green Tea Spa–a massage parlor at 7 Danbury Rd.–a police department spokesperson confirmed that the case is still open. He said that police are looking into whether other laws have been broken and if they can make any additional arrests–including patrons and customers.
“We’re looking at credit card receipts that we seized, and we will look into all the information that we have,” Lt. Donald Wakeman said. While no arrests have been made of any customers for allegedly soliciting sexual activity, Wakeman said that there were cameras at the location and several hours of recordings on a DVR have been seized by police for examination.
He said that the business is still open and operating, but that the department is watching closely.
“They remain very much on our radar,” Wakeman said.
Wakeman said that the police will be contacting the owner of the building to determine the terms of the lease. “We want to make sure that the building’s owner is aware of the investigation that we conducted. We’re also going to speak to the Department of Consumer Protection to see if there is anything that can be done on the state level, as far as the employees.”
He added that none of the employees had valid massage licenses.
