Wilton Police are seeking information from the public regarding a case of prom invite gone wrong. On Sunday, police discovered the word, “Prom?” carved into a tree at Quarry Head State Park–and they say the carving could lead to further damage or death of the tree due to the vandalism.
According to Lt. Stephen Brennan, the carving seems to have been made recently, given the color of the wood and how fresh the carving appears. He said that the bark had been peeled away and unweathered, fresh wood was visible underneath.
Measuring approximately 1-foot by 1.5-feet, the case is being treated as ‘criminal mischief.’
