Each week the Wilton Town Clerk’s office releases data for the prior week’s real estate transactions. From Friday, Sept. 18 through Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, Town Clerk Lori Kaback reported thirteen properties that changed hands.

Key Highlight: Thirteen properties changed hands this week, including two commercial buildings — one associated with Performance Motor Cars and the other a medical/wellness office builbing in Wilton Center — as well as one home on Danbury Rd. with significant historical background.
An impressive Greek Revival, 462 Danbury Rd. was built circa 1840 by John Hurlbutt on land that was gifted to him by his father. The house remained in the Hurlbutt Family until 1936 and was also occupied by Mr. Godfrey, who might have owned some property and rented the house from the Hurlbutts. The house changed hands within the family over the course of many years and ultimately fell to Lewis Hurlbutt and his sister. Lewis was a Yale graduate, longstanding Chairman of Wilton’s Finance Committee and was on the building committee for the current Town Hall. (Source: CT Historic Resources Inventory)
