On Tuesday, July 22 Wilton resident Edmund Burke celebrated his 100th birthday, and he was feted with great fanfare to celebrate the milestone.
The members of Wilton Post 86 American Legion performed a Color Guard Ceremony at Wilton Meadows to honor Burke, a WWII veteran who participated in the Battle of the Bulge, and was part of the Allied advance into Germany for the conclusion of the war.
As Burke and his family celebrated the occasion with a birthday cake, Post Commander Paul Niche presented him with certificates of appreciation from Wilton’s first selectman and legislators.
