The Wilton Rotary Club and Marly’s Restaurant in Wilton Center have joined forces on an event called “Tame the Typhoon” to raise funds to benefit victims of the Philippine typhoon disaster, as well as other Rotary community service projects.
On Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 5:30-10:30 p.m., Rotarians will be serving as bartenders at Marly’s, dispensing beer and wine, assisted by front of the house manager Camille Carriero, who will handle other cocktail orders. Marly’s is donating all tips from the bar and any additional contributions from patrons dining that night to the Rotary cause.
Pat Russo, event coordinator for Rotary, said, “We encourage everyone to stop by Marly’s the night of Feb. 25 and enjoy a drink at the bar or a great meal with family and friends in the dining room. It will be a fun time that helps our Philippine relief fund as well as other international and local projects sponsored by our club. In addition to disaster relief, Rotary International is involved in many efforts around the globe to promote children’s health, clean water, good sanitation, polio eradication, and world peace and understanding. So please join us at Marly’s to ‘Tame the Typhoon’ and have a very enjoyable evening.”
