BREAKING NEWS: July 16 2025 — In a statement released late this afternoon, Selectwoman Kim Healy announced she will not seek a second term on Wilton’s Board of Selectmen (BOS). Instead, she intends to pursue a seat on the Board of Finance, citing her professional background as a strong match for the financial oversight role.
Healy will have served her first full, four-year term on the BOS. She will be on the ballot as a Republican in the 2025 municipal elections, which will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
“It has been a privilege to serve on the Board of Selectmen,” Healy said, reflecting on her first term in town leadership. “It has taught me much about the importance of a strong, principled local government — one that remains focused on the best interests of the residents of our great town.”
Healy was first elected to the Board of Selectmen in 2021. During her tenure, she has become increasingly more visible and outspoken on several key town matters, particularly in recent months.
In her press release, she pointed to her efforts during the FY2026 BOS budget process, her involvement in establishing an oversight plan for the ongoing construction of Wilton’s new Police Department headquarters, and her advocacy for addressing issues raised in the FY2024 audit report — especially within the Tax Collector’s office.
“I am very proud of my time on the Board of Selectmen,” she said.
Healy has been in the headlines most recently regarding her work to inspire an effort to more closely review financial and operational processes at Town Hall, including the formation of a Process Review Committee jointly populated by BOS and BOF members. Healy was disappointed when her fellow selectmen did not support her including her on that committee.
Healy emphasized that her decision to run for a seat on the Board of Finance stems from a desire to apply her skills more directly in the financial management of the town.
“I believe my professional background will better serve the community” in that role, she said.
Healy also expressed gratitude to Wilton voters for their support and to her colleagues in local government.
“I am grateful for the trust the Wilton public had in me when they elected me in 2021. I’m also grateful to the many public officials and town employees I have worked with while serving,” Healy said, adding, “I look forward to more great things for Wilton.”
Healy will be running on the Republican ticket this Fall. The Republican Town Committee will be selecting its full slate of nominated candidates this evening.
