The Wilton Student Financial Aid Committee (WSFAC) is one of the longest running charities in continuous operation in Wilton, celebrating 65 years of supporting Wilton students heading off to college. The Committee offers financial support not just for Wilton High School graduates, but for any Wilton students who will be attending an accredited, post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis.
“We are here to help close the gap for students with demonstrated need to make their college dreams a reality. We want to hear from you and we want to help you,” wrote WSFAC Chair Chris Perry in a letter submitted to GMW.

WSFAC has supported hundreds of eligible Wilton students in its 65 years for one or all four years of their higher education. The total aid in 1959 consisted of $500 distributed to two students at the time. WFAC now provides tens of thousands of dollars to dozens of qualifying students. Some have received aid just for freshman year transitions, while all are encouraged to reapply to receive support for all four years. The annual aid budget comes from local donations as well as income from our endowed funds.
The Committee is currently beginning the application review process. Interested students may apply through the Wilton Student Financial Aid Committee website.
Perry acknowledged the WSFAC recognizes that the college financial aid process has been disrupted in 2023-24 due to government delays in the release of FAFSA applications and that has caused delays in schools offering financial aid packages to prospective students. In light of those special challenges this year, the customary application deadline of June 15 has been extended to June 30 for students to apply to WSFAC.
