Community Steps is holding a spin-a-thon fundraiser this Saturday, June 9 at JoyRide Wilton to support the program’s efforts on behalf of its Wilton Swag business. Cayla Clarke, the president of Wilton Swag, says that the group is raising money toward their goal of opening up a pop-up store in Wilton Center.

Community Steps is a transition program for people ages 18-21 to attend after graduating Wilton High School. This program supports inclusion throughout the Wilton Schools and the Wilton Community for all individuals.

Wilton Swag is a non profit organization (501-c) recently launched by a group of Wilton parents and community stakeholders, who are committed to employ individuals with disabilities and special needs in our community. Only 34% of individuals with a disability are employed part time and 66% of individuals with a disability are unemployed are working less than 15 hours a week.

The Wilton Swag Fundraising Ride will be a fun and energetic class led by Selina Santos. Riders are encouraged to arrive by 11 a.m. to spend some time getting acquainted with the studio and to be set up properly on a bike. Class will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m.. Riders should bring a water, and towels will be provided.

The cost to participate is $50 per bike or $80 per team (paid in cash or check) on the day of the event. Be sure to wear comfortable work-out clothes and sneakers, and get ready for a JOYful experience! Checks can be made out to Wilton Swag. All donations are tax deductible.
