They began the District One tournament this past Saturday, July 9, away against Darien and fell 16-0 against tough competition. Their second game is on Wednesday, July 13 at 5:45 p.m., and the girls will be on home turf at Wilton’s Middlebrook softball field.

Members of this year’s all-star team are Marin Burke, Anisa Burrows, Katherine Costanzo, Lauren Davis, Eva Filipponi, Amelia Fleming, Grace Guglielmo, Katie Kelly, Sadie Klyver, Ella Noonan, Kate Rusin, Avery Samai, Avery Schestag and Teagan Stengrim. Managing this year’s team is Amanda Samai with coaches Gerry Davis and Joseph Guglielmo.

“These girls are a very talented group of diverse players” says manager Samai. “These players have been practicing almost every day and have had a great attitude.  They know that their goal is to win the District One championship for Wilton.”

The team is led by a strong pitching staff including Samai, Schestag, Davis, Burrows and Guglielmo who will be taking the mound.  Rounding out the infield will be Burke, Filipponi, Kelly and Klyver along with outfielders Fleming, Noonan, Rusin and Stengrim.

The team invites Wilton fans to come out Wednesday to cheer them as they pursue a District One Championship!
