Tuesday, Feb. 18, 9 a.m. — Three warming centers have opened in Wilton as Connecticut will experience a period of frigid conditions over the next several days. Abnormally cold air will settle into the region following the past weekend’s winter storm. Single-digit morning low temperatures coupled with breezy winds will result in below zero to single-digit wind chill values for much of this week.
Emergency Management Director/Fire Chief Jim Blanchfield said the state’s severe cold weather protocol, activated on Sunday, Feb. 14, will remain in effect to Saturday Feb. 22, at 12 p.m.
According to Eversource, there are 53 customers in Wilton without power as of 9 a.m.
