This week (Sept. 25-Oct. 1), which is the first full week of fall, will be a beautiful one overall. It will be mild to start, with sunshine and mainly dry conditions.

Monday, Sept. 25:  It will be warm and dry on Monday to begin the week, with sunny skies and temperatures still over ten degrees above average. It’s also going to be warm already when you wake up, with temperatures near 70 degrees.

Tuesday, Sept. 26:  On Tuesday, there is the slight chance for a shower or two but otherwise you can expect partly cloudy skies. By this time, we’ll be watching Hurricane Maria, which will likely be just off the coast of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It will likely track out to sea and not impact us, but whenever a hurricane gets relatively close we’ll have to keep an eye on it.

Wednesday, Sept. 27:  Wednesday will be a little bit cloudier with clouds decreasing to sunshine as the day progresses. There is also the small chance for a shower. Temperatures will gradually cool down as the week progresses, but it will still be mild with a forecast high of 79 degrees for Wednesday.

Thursday, Sept. 28:  Thursday will be sunny and warm–a beautiful day to be outside and admire the patchy fall foliage. As you can tell, the weather this week is looking to be pretty much perfect!

Friday, Sept. 29:  By Friday, the weather will remain gorgeous and dry but definitely cooler, featuring sunny skies and temperatures maxing out just around 70 degrees.

Saturday, Sept. 30:  We may cool down even further into the 60s on Saturday to begin the new weekend. At least the sun will be out on Saturday with mostly sunny skies in the forecast. That will feel more like fall and the 60s are very typical for this time of the year.

Sunday, Oct. 1:  Then on Sunday, the forecast may change because we’re looking out at a week away, but rain–which may be heavy–is what I’m currently forecasting, as a low forms off the coast and moves inland. If my current forecast verifies, this will be a nasty day to begin the month of October, so enjoy the weather on Saturday!
