Wilton’s first selectman Bill Brennan announced the appointment of Lori Kaback as Wilton’s Town Clerk, effective Feb. 18. She replaces Betty Ragonetti, who retired last year.

“We are extremely pleased with the appointment. Lori Kaback is eminently qualified for the position of Wilton’s Town Clerk. She has been the City of Danbury’s Town Clerk, an elected position, since 2005 and has worked in the Danbury Town Clerk’s Office for the last 22 years. Prior to being elected Danbury Town Clerk, she served as an assistant town clerk and an assistant registrar of vital statistics. The breadth of her experience and commitment to public service makes her an ideal candidate to assume the leadership of Wilton’s Town Clerk’s Office, an exceedingly well-run and key Town department,” Brennan said.

In addition to her years of service in the Danbury Town Clerk’s Office, Kaback earned designation as a Certified Connecticut Town Clerk by the State of Connecticut Office of the Secretary of the State and Town Clerk Certification Committee in 2008 and is a Notary Public.

In a press release, Brennan said of the staff of the Wilton’s Town Clerk’s Office that they “pride themselves in the accuracy and attention to detail they bring to their role as official recording agency of the Town, maintaining custody of all documents related to ownership of real property, vital statistic records (marriages, births, and deaths), and certain State licenses and participating in elections administration functions.”

He added that they strive to do so in a friendly and informative manner so as to assist Town residents and other members of the public to conduct their business with knowledge and efficiency.

Brennan expressed his confidence that, “Kaback will continue this tradition of excellence and public service as Wilton’s new Town Clerk.”
