In the thick of competition season, the Wilton YMCA Gymnastics Team competed at the 3rd Annual Emily Fedorko Invitational in Darien on March 10-11. The gymnasts in red represented Wilton with spirit and skill and took home multiple trophies, medals and event titles. Overall, the Level 4, 6 and 8 teams each placed 2nd All Around, and the Level 3 team took 4th AA.
Level 3
For Age 8, Tess D’Andraia placed 3rd on bars and 5th on vault (9.0).
For Age 9 Junior, Evy Theriault came in 4th AA, with 3rd on beam (9.250) and bars, 4th on floor and 5th on vault.
For Age 9 Senior, Mia Decore was the AA Champion, winning the titles of Vault (9.2), Beam (9.4) and Bars Champion. Grace Jeanes took home the silver AA trophy, earning the title of Floor Champion (9.2), and placing 3rd on vault (9.040) and beam.
For Age 10 Junior, Alyssa Duarte was 4th AA, taking the title of Floor Champion (9.0) and placing 4th on vault (9.0) and bars.
For Age 10 Senior, Rowan Morse took home the 4th AA trophy, winning the title of Bars Champion (9.3), and scoring 9.350 on vault (3rd).
For Age 11, Abby Jones earned the 3rd place AA trophy, scoring 9.4 on vault (3rd), 9.3 on bars (2nd), and 9.350 on beam (4th). Lia Carusone placed 4th on vault (9.3) and 5th on beam (9.150). Winnie Quigg won the silver medal on vault (9.450) and scored 9.050 on beam. Abigail Schmitt placed 4th on floor (9.0) and scored 9.0 on vault.
For Ages 12+, Isabella Cerra placed 5th on bars (9.350) and earned 9.2 on beam.
Level 4
For Age 10, Taylor Archambeau came in 6th AA, taking home 4th on beam (9.150) and bars (9.2), and 5th on vault (9.0) and floor (9.250). Cailyn Cruickshank scored 9.150 on floor.
For Age 11, Kaelyn Talisse took home the 4th AA trophy, placing 4th on beam (9.4) and bars. Lauren Condon won 5th AA, earning 9.4 on beam (9.4) and placing 5th on floor.
For Age 12, Wilton flooded the AA podium. Jeni Von Bartheld was the undisputed AA champion, earning the titles of Vault Champion (9.3) and co-Floor Champion (9.3), and scoring 9.1 on beam and 9.0 on vault (3rd). Ella Arghirescu took home the Silver AA trophy and was crowned Beam Champion with an incredible 9.850, while also placing 2nd on bars and 5th on floor. Sofia Vitti was the recipient of the Bronze AA trophy, earning the title of Vault Champion (9.2), placing 3rd on bars and floor, and scoring 9.150 on beam. Elizabeth Fahey placed 4th AA and was co-Floor Champion (9.1), while also earning 2nd on vault (9.1) and beam (9.7). Ella Mancuso rounded off the AA podium with the 6th AA trophy, earning 9.4 on beam (4th), and placing 4th on floor and 5th on bars. Isabella Silverstein took the bronze medal on floor. Emma Incao’s steady nerves earned 5th on beam with 9.250.
For Ages 13-15, Simona Gheorghe was 6th AA and took home the title of Beam Champion (9.6), and placed 4th on vault (9.0) and bars. Nina Ferrucci scored 9.3 on beam (4th), and placed 5th on vault and bars. Madeline Mosquera’s expressive floor routine landed her with title of Floor Champion (9.1).
Level 6
For Ages 11-12, Ashley Umhoefer was the 2nd AA winner, earning the title of Vault Champion with an amazing 9.850, and scoring 9.7 on bars (2nd), 9.650 on floor (4th) and 9.4 on beam (4th). Alyssa Smeriglio scored 9.3 on bars, 9.2 on beam (5th) and 9.1 on floor. Sofia Blessing earned 9.050 on bars, 9.150 on beam, and 9.350 on floor.
For Ages 13-14, Donna Stepnowsky had a fabulous meet, bringing home the 2nd AA trophy with 9.2 on beam (2nd), 9.4 on vault (2nd), 9.3 on floor (3rd), 9.450 (3rd). Alyson Scheurkogel was the 5th AA winner, placing 3rd on vault (9.0), 4th on floor (9.250) and 5th on bars (9.1). Kaylie Berghaus was 5th on bars (9.1) and beam (9.0). Grace Condon took the title of Floor Champion (9.450) and placed 4th on beam (9.1).
For Ages 15+, Ava Walker was the undeniable AA Champion, placing 1st on floor (9.5) and beam (9.450), 2nd on bars (9.1) and 3rd on vault. Michaela Kane stood in the next spot of honor on the podium with a 2nd AA finish, was crowned Bars Champion with an almost flawless 9.850, and placed 2nd on floor (9.050) and vault, and 4th on beam.
Level 8
For Age Junior, Olivia Mannino scored 9.4 on floor (3rd), and 9.0 on bars (4th) and beam.
For Age Senior, Emma Daughtery was 3rd AA, placing 2nd on floor (9.2), and 3rd on vault, bars and beam. Kate Ginsberg came in 4th AA, taking the titles of Floor (9.3), Beam and Vault Champion, and placing 4th on bars.
