The Tri-State Invitational in Trumbull, held over March 23-24, was the scene of a long awaited feat for the Wilton YMCA Gymnastics team. The Level 6 gymnasts brought their A-games and beat the long-standing top team to win the All Around title for the Level 6 division. Wilton Y gymnasts from the other levels earned multiple AA and event titles, displaying the growing strength of the Wilton program. Overall, Level 6 took the division win with 1st AA, Level 4 was 3rd AA, and Level 3 was 6th AA.

Level 3

For Ages 7-8, Tess D’Andraia scored 9.350 on floor (5th) and placed 4th on bars.

For Age 9, Grace Jeanes was the silver AA champion, placing 2nd on beam, 3rd on floor (9.550), 5th on bars, and scoring 9.250 on vault. Mia Decore won the title of floor champion with a whopping 9.70, and placed 5th on vault (9.3). Evy Theriault scored 9.3 on floor and 9.0 on vault.

For Age 10a, Rowan Morse was crowned the AA champion, placing the gold on beam, and sweeping silver on floor (9.650), bars (9.1) and vault (9.3).

For Age 10b, Alyssa Duarte earned 9.2 on floor and 9.050 on vault. Lilli Todd scored 9.450 on vault (3rd) and 9.3 on floor.

For Age 11, Lia Carusone took home the 4th AA trophy, scoring 9.4 on floor and placing 4th on bars (9.0) and 5th on vault (9.250). Abigail Schmitt earned a 9.4 on floor.

For Age 12, Isabella Cerra took 3rd on bars and scored 9.050 on floor and 9.150 on vault.

Level 4

For Age 10, Taylor Archambeau was vault champion with a 9.2, placed 3rd on floor and beam, 5th on bars (9.350), and took home the 3rd place AA trophy. Cailyn Cruickshank placed 4th on vault and floor.

For Age 11, Kaelyn Talisse was 5th AA, placing 2nd on floor and beam, and 3rd on vault. Teagan Stengrim’s steady balance led to 2nd on beam and the biggest of smiles.

For Ages 12-13, Jeni Von Bartheld won the title of AA champion, placing 1st on beam (9.1) and floor (9.1), 3rd on bars (9.450) and 4th on vault. Ella Arghirescu placed 4th AA, with 2nd on vault, 3rd on beam, 5th on floor, and scoring 9.1 on bars. Elizabeth Fahey was vault champion (9.0), 3rd on floor and took home 6th AA. Emma Incao fought through an arm injury to place 4th on vault. Madeline Mosquera was 5th on vault and beam.

Level 5

For Ages 9-11, Alyssa Mariani’s strong showing led to a 2nd AA win, with 1st on vault (9.1), 2nd on bars and beam, and 3rd on floor.

For Ages 12-13, Samantha Bauer placed 5th on vault and floor.

Level 6

For Ages 9-11, Ashley Umhoefer stood atop the podium as vault (9.3) and bars (9.650) champion, placed 2nd on floor (9.050), 3rd on beam, and brought home the 1st place AA trophy.

For Ages 12-13, Alyssa Smeriglio was the floor champion with 9.2, placing 5th on bars (9.1), vault and beam, and taking home the 3rd AA trophy. Donna Stepnowsky came in 4th AA, placing 3rd on floor (9.050) and vault, and 5th on bars (9.1). Sofia Blessing was 5th AA, taking the title of bars champion (9.3), and placing 5th on floor.

For Ages 14+, Ava Walker topped the podium to win 1st place AA, taking 1st on floor (9.150) and beam (9.1), 2nd on vault (9.0) and 3rd on bars (9.1). Michaela Kane took home the 2nd place AA trophy, placing 1st on bars with an impressive 9.5, 1st on vault (9.050), and 2nd on beam and floor.

Level 8

For Ages 11-13, Olivia Mannino swept the podium, taking home the 1st place AA trophy, and sweeping 1st across the board for all 4 events.

For Ages 14-15, Emma Daughtery took bronze AA, placing 1st on floor, 2nd on bars, and 3rd on vault and beam.
