The Wilton branch of the Riverbrook Regional YMCA competed in the Northeast Regionals in Portsmouth, RI the weekend of May 9-11. Regionals is an opportunity to compete against YMCA gyms from all over the Northeast including Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut and New Hampshire. Wilton YMCA was represented by 21 gymnasts ranging in levels 2-8, including the XCEL Gold program.
Overall, Wilton won two individual championship titles and 42 event titles; Level 2 placed third, Level 4 placed fourth, and Level 3 placed fifth. The two individual championship titles went to sisters Callie Bartlett and Blake Bartlett, Level 2 and Level 3 respectively. Both have been part of the Wilton YMCA gymnastics program since they were each 2 years old; Blake officially joined the team in 2022 and Callie joined in 2024.
“I’m so proud of them-they’ve both worked really hard,” Blair Bartlett, Callie and Blake’s father, said. “They genuinely love being in the gym, which says so much about the incredible coaches at the YMCA — it’s such a fun, supportive environment, and we’re grateful for that. As parents, we feel incredibly lucky our girls have found something they love, and have a group of friends to enjoy it with.”
