Wilton gymnasts traveled to Plaistow, NH to participate in the 2024 YMCA New England Regional Gymnastics Championship hosted by the Plaistow Community YMCA on May 17-19. Over 20 YMCA teams from across six states competed for regional recognition at what was the third championship meet for the athletes this year.
“Gymnastics is so fun! My coaches, teammates, and competitors teach me so much about gymnastics and so much more. I love competing in the meets and the hard work that leads up to it . I’m always so excited for the meets,” Level 4 gymnast Audrey Hyland said.
Level 6 gymnast Abby Deane was pleased with the team’s overall performance.
“It’s been a great year for Wilton gymnastics, with the addition of our new coach, some new, young, talented gymnasts, and the return of our other great coaches and teammates,” Deane said. “We’ve all been working hard, learning new skills, and building an encouraging and supportive team environment. I think our achievements at the regional championship was a representation of all of our dedication and talent this year.
