Eleven gymnasts from the Riverbrook Regional/Wilton YMCA made their mark on the national stage, traveling to Green Bay, WI to compete against approximately 2,000 gymnasts in the 2025 YMCA Gymnastics Nationals from June 25-28. The event brought together top athletes from across the country, offering the Wilton YMCA teammates a chance to showcase their skills and sportsmanship.

The competition began with an inspiring keynote speech from Olympic medalist Jordan Chiles at the opening ceremonies.

“A highlight of the trip was seeing Jordan Chiles talk at opening ceremony. Jordan said any dream you have you can achieve,” Wilton YMCA gymnast Fallon Sommer said.

The Wilton YMCA gymnasts competed over three days, demonstrating their talent and determination. Sommer’s performance was among the standouts, and she emerged as the National Champion for Level 3 with an overall score of 38.05 out of 40.

“I loved competing,” Sommer said. “The best part was having teammates there supporting each other. I love watching teammates compete and cheering them on.”

She also credited her coaches and teammates for their preparation and camaraderie. “The coaches didn’t just get us ready, they got us super ready for the competition. Blake Bartlett, my teammate, and I were ready!” she said.

Along with Sommer, the Wilton Y had four other gymnasts who placed in the top three for their overall performances: Blake Bartlett (Level 3, second place), Allison Massaua (Level 7, second place), Abigail Deane (Level 7, third place), and Callie Bartlett (Level 2, third place).

The Wilton YMCA team’s journey to Green Bay was not just about competition, but a testament to their dedication, teamwork and making memories that will last a lifetime.
