Wilton Youth Council (WYC) is has announced the return of its Dads and Doughnuts event, set to take place on Sunday, May 18, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Allens Meadows, Field 4. This community gathering aims to foster meaningful connections among fathers while providing children the freedom to play in a supportive environment.
In today’s fast-paced world, opportunities for unstructured play are becoming increasingly rare for children. Dads and Doughnuts seeks to create a joyful space for kids to play and dads to enjoy good conversation with each other, all while enjoying delicious doughnuts and coffee from Wilton’s own Rise Doughnuts.
“Between work, school, sports, dance recitals, and other extracurricular activities we all have busy schedules” Wilton Youth Council Board Member Doug Schneider said. “This event is a chance for dads to connect with each other while their children engage in free play — an essential part of their development.”
The concept of Dads and Doughnuts is simple yet profound: to provide a refreshing departure from structured schedules, allowing families to reconnect with what truly matters — quality time and community spirit.
Wilton Youth Council encourages families from the Wilton community to join in the fun. Together, let’s celebrate the joys of fatherhood and childhood in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
