If you like the chilly, fall-like temperatures and weather, then this week is the perfect week for you where we even have the potential for our first freeze of the season in Wilton.

Monday, Oct. 24: The week will be off to a nice start on Monday with temperatures in the upper 40s, which is actually a few degrees warmer than average. It will heat up to the upper 50s by the early afternoon with sunshine and a few afternoon clouds. It will also still be a breezy day with gusts up to 30 mph, but that isn’t as bad as the winds we just experienced last weekend.

Tuesday, Oct. 25: Winds will continue to calm down, but they’ll still be present as we get into our Tuesday. Today will be another beautiful day, but a much cooler one where we’ll be struggling to get out of the 40s during daylight hours. The sun will be out though, which will feel nice with sunny to partly cloudy skies in the forecast.

Wednesday, Oct. 26: The cold is expected to peak on Wednesday, with a forecast high temperatures of only 48 degrees! That is over ten degrees below the average high for this time of year. At least the sun will be shining in the morning, yielding to a mix of sun and clouds in the afternoon.

Thursday, Oct. 27: Temperatures will finally begin to climb starting Thursday, but that will occur following a very chilly morning. You’re going to want to bundle up because low temperatures Thursday are anticipated to be below the freezing mark of 32 degrees. In terms of weather conditions, there will be mostly cloudy skies, although sunshine is possible early. Also in the afternoon or evening, rain may start to move in.

Friday, Oct. 28: That rain will fall during much of Thursday night, but I think it will be out of here by daybreak on Friday, as indicated by both of the major weather models. Therefore on Friday, clouds early quickly will lead to partly cloudy skies for the remainder of the day as the low pressure system scoots off to the east. This will allow for temperatures to warm up closer to average into the upper 50s.

Saturday, Oct. 29: The weekend, as of now, is looking very nice. On Saturday, it will be cool and crisp, featuring classic fall weather of sunny skies in the morning, then periods of sun and clouds in the afternoon. It will be breezy, however, as the winds on the backside of the low pressure system blow through.

Sunday, Oct. 30: Sunday will be the better day to rake the leaves that have fallen from the strong winds and rain because the winds will be calm under mostly sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures.

Here’s a sneak peak for the trick-or-treaters on Halloween, where I see mostly cloudy skies with a 30-percent chance for rain and relatively warm temperatures:
