The Wilton Garden Club will hold its 75th Mother’s Day Plant Sale on Friday, May 9 from noon-6 p.m. and Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m.-noon, rain or shine at the Town Green.

At the Plant Sale you will find gifts for mom, such as creative baskets, patio planters, hanging baskets and new items including terrariums and troughs.  Once again the garden club will offer seven different varieties of Offinger tomatoes grown by local farmers Adrian Offinger and his son, Don. This is the club’s 20th year offering Offinger’s tomatoes, which are only available to the public through the club’s plant sale.

Garden Consultants will be available to describe the club’s expanded selection of “Members Choice” plant recommendations, a select group of “overachieving plants” that no garden should be without. New this year will be special plant labels to identify all deer resistant plants, affectionately referred to by members as “deer defenders.”  Homeowners who are weary of spraying their plants to thwart the ever-growing deer population should be sure to include these intrepid plants in their landscape.  Also new for sale this year will be a marvelous selection of native plants as well as a diverse offering of flowers, grasses, trees and shrubs that attract butterflies and birds.
